30th Anniversary Chowder Cook-Off Classic on Sunday, September 30 at 11 a.m. as favorite restaurants face off for the tastiest chowder. All ticket holders can sample and place votes for the best red, white and creative chowders, 19 restaurants compete for your vote! 45th Annual LBI Commemorative 18 Mile Run - Date: 10/7/2018 - 10:30am
St. Francis Parish and Community Center
This annual event is held in commemoration of the 11 Israeli athletes slain by terrorists at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, Germany and the thousands who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks in America on September 11, 2001. The course is a straight, flat, point-to-point run heading North starting in Holgate and finishing in Barnegat Light.

David Gallo, American Oceanographer & Explorer - 10/17/2018 - 6pm
Georgian Court University

For more than 30 years, David Gallo, Ph.D., has been at the forefront of ocean exploration and was one of the first scientists to use a combination of robots and submarines to explore the deep seafloor. Most recently, he co-led an expedition to create the first detailed and comprehensive map of the RMS Titanic. He is planning a series of expeditions of the Atlantis myth and an Antarctic expedition.

Visit Tuckerton Seaport, if you dare, for a frightastic adventure known in local lore as Haunted Seaport. Haunted Seaport will take place on Thursday, October 18, Friday, October 19, and Saturday, October 20, and Sunday October 21 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm each night (last admission will be at 8pm or earlier dependng on capacity). Individuals, businesses and non-profit groups decorate car trunks, vans or pickup beds and hand out treats to children. If you are interested in setting up a trunk, call 732-506-5122.
